 RULES AND TOOLS FOR CATALOGING INTERNET RESOURCES
 A workshop sponsored by the 2006 CULS Summer Institute

 July 10-11, 2006
 Lawrence Public Library

 Overview: Rules and Tools for Cataloging Internet Resources is a
 workshop developed by SCCTP, ALCTS, and LC to provide attendees with
a
 solid foundation in the principles and practices of online resource
 cataloging using current descriptive cataloging standards
(AACR2/MARC21)
 and practices (LCRI/CONSER/PCC).

 Workshop attendees will learn to:

           o Understand the concepts behind the 2002 AACR2 revisions
and how they affect electronic resource cataloging.
           o Know what tools to consult to support the online resource
cataloging process.
           o Catalog online monographs, serials, and integrating
resources.
           o Better understand how record sets and machine-generated
 cataloging can be used to support electronic resource record
processing.
           o Correctly update integrating resource records to reflect
changes to the resource.

 Intended Audience: Practicing catalogers from all types of libraries
 who have a working knowledge of the MARC21 bibliographic format and
AACR2.

 Registration Periods: KLA members may register from April 5th, 2006 -
July 3rd, 2006.
                                  Non-KLA members may register from May
27th, 2006 - July 3rd, 2006.
 Registration Fee:   KLA members: $80.00
                               Non-KLA members: $125.00
