Usually the change in commercial publisher, especially if the firm
wasn't given an added entry, will not be reflected in the record--still
less if it's under the same corporate umbrella. Often these changes are
frequent enough that "Publisher varies" will be given in a note. Of
course, you still will want the information in the control record that
you check in by, as long as you can identify it when the information
changes (you'll see it first, anyway). This is one of the areas where
the cataloging practice of basing the description on the first issue may
not be the best aid to smooth receipt. On the other hand, organizations
and institutions tend to get added entries and therefore changes in
their names are noted in the record as well.
