Position: Historical Collections Consultant, full-time, permanent
Location: Wisconsin Historical Society, Library-Archives Division, Madison, Wisconsin
Salary: $50,279 plus benefits

Wisconsin Historical Society, Library-Archives Division is seeking a Historical Collections Consultant to oversee the Wisconsin state government publications collections. Works independently under the general supervision of a Librarian Supervisor. Plans and coordinates the agency's Wisconsin state government publications outreach program statewide to librarians, educators, and the public at large. Coordinates the Library's program for bibliographic access to Wisconsin state government publications. Provides reference service related to government publications.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of the literature and research methods utilized with government publications.
Advanced knowledge of current developments in library automation and its applications to library technical services policies and procedures.
Advanced knowledge of accepted library descriptive cataloging theory and practice.
Advanced knowledge of accepted library subject cataloging theory and practice.
Advanced knowledge of library reference tools and research methods, particularly as they apply to government-produced information.
Advanced knowledge of library collection development theory and practice.
Ability to teach classes, lead workshops, and facilitate seminars; ability to plan, organize, and conduct conferences, professional development meetings, and other large public gatherings of professionals and the general public, including groups such as public library boards of directors
Ability to actively participate in professional organizations through effective communication on committees and advisory boards.
