Our thanks to the alert--and patient--folks on this Listserv who
subscribe to BioOne--whether directly through BioOne or via CSA
Illumina. Please accept our profound apology for the delays in
providing access to issues from 4 publications. There are several root
causes of the problems you have encountered. Although generally they
reflect the transition from print to electronic publication, the
glitches are also coincident with the conclusion of a year-long effort
to upgrade the BioOne platform. I am happy to report, however, that the
most recent issues of the journals will be available via BioOne and CSA
Illumina by next week. Below is a summary of the status for each of the
4 journals mentioned in the Listserv discussions:
Journal of Wildlife Management - BioOne will include JWM beginning with
2004. Whereas all 4 issues from 2005 are indeed available in print, we
have been working to resolve some of the transitional issues related to
moving from the print to electronic medium in 2005. Issues 69.1 through
3 (2005) will be available on line next week (week of April 10). Issues
69.4 and 70.1 (2006) are in production, and we expect them to be posted
electronically within 2 weeks. This will put the journal back on
schedule in BioOne.
Wildlife Society Bulletin - Again, although all 2004 and 2005 issues
have been printed and distributed, their conversion to electronic format
has taken longer than we would have liked. Numbers 3 and 4 from 2004
will be available on line next week, and we are working to convert the
first two issues from 2004 as well as the 2005 issues.
/Please note that these two journals are available as part of the BioOne
collection, as well as by individual subscription through Alliance
Communications Group. /
Wilson Journal of Ornithology (formerly Wilson Bulletin) - The first
issue for 2006 is likewise available in print. Unfortunately, however,
name changes provide challenging diversions for electronic collections.
The necessary reprogramming is now complete and the journal will be
available next week.
Journal of Coastal Research - The most recent issue of JCR (22.2) will
likewise be online next week in both BioOne and via CSA Illumina.
In effort to relieve some of the confusion going forward, we are working
to develop an update page for users of BioOne. Your input and feedback
are not only warmly welcomed, they are essential! Thank you for helping
BioOne meet its mission of serving both libraries and publishers with
the best quality service at the most reasonable cost.
Best regards, Susi
