Hello Vince,
I received the following e-mail from Absolute Backorder Service on 4/12/06.
I know that PubZilla also subports this.
The big problem with the different donation centers is that the libraries in
the affected areas are probably not ready yet to receive anything. I just
came back from a mission trip to New Orleans, where I helped to clean
out/gutt houses, and I saw that there is very little rebuilding going on
yet, since huge areas are distroit and need to be cleaned up first. Also,
they just came out with the new building codes.

"Good News,
Absolute Backorder Service, Inc. is pleased to introduce the Hurricane
Donation Center (HDC) for libraries affected by the devastating storms of
2005.
This free service is our attempt to put donators in touch with libraries in
need. Our experience assisting clients in rebuilding their collections has
identified this donation center as an integral part of restoring losses.
Absolute has heard from many libraries willing to donate and several
libraries in dire need.
Rather than individual libraries in need addressing specific offerings on a
case by case basis, they can peruse our centralized listings and contact the
most appropriate donor directly to work out the details of what's needed and
where to send the related material.
Our model allows donating libraries to hold their offerings at their library
until a needing library contacts them. All postings have expiration dates
(that can be edited) to automatically delete when the journals can no longer
be held at your respective library.
After creating a donator or receiver account, a confirming email will
follow. Please utilize this password-protected utility with our compliments.

Can someone provide the address or name of the organization serving as a
clearinghouse for contributed journals for the libraries of New Orleans
after Hurricane Katrina?
Thanks.
