The ALA has this website posted:

Among the information at the site, they say,

Book Donations:

At this time, ALA is not collecting books for libraries, nor are we aware of any other organizations who are currently doing so. Most libraries are going to need extensive repairs or in some cases to be rebuilt entirely before they are ready to restock their shelves.

The best advice we can give for now is for you to hold onto the books until such time as we are advised that libraries are ready to receive them. We will post information on our website when we know more.

Can someone provide the address or name of the organization serving as a
clearinghouse for contributed journals for the libraries of New Orleans
after Hurricane Katrina?

Thanks.
