Re: Title changes------------

Thanks, Steve, for once again answering my cataloging question. You
clarified the title change problem for me. I'll get it one of these
days.
I was looking at EBSCO's Customized Bulletin and they have CLMP on the
2005-2006 issue.
I have checked the actual issue and the publisher doesn't have it that
way which added to your confusion.
I do mark on OCLC whether we have holdings or not. Seems to me I should
mark all three records that we have holdings. Am I right?

I went to OCLC to see what was there. There 3 records for it in OCLC:
Directory of Literary Magazines OCLC 11733470
1984-2001
2002 not printed
CLMP Directory of Literary Magazines and Presses OCLC 51273023
2003-2004
CLMP Literary Magazine & Press Directory OCLC 60932038
2005-2006

Jean -- I'm a little confused by what you presented as the title proper
as what currently appears in #60932038 is 'The literary press and
magazine directory' not 'CLMP literary magazine & press directory' (as
you've stated). Looking at the three OCLC records you cite:
Directory of literary magazines
to
The CLMP directory of literary magazines and presses
could be considered a scope change as the addition of the word 'presses'
indicates that it's not only a directory of magazine, but also of
publishers (although I don't see a difference in subject heading). In
any case, the title change was cataloged under pre-2002 rules (2002
rules weren't implemented until Dec. 2002) so the addition of corporate
body at beginning of title would have been a major change at that time
in any case.
The CLMP directory of literary magazines and presses
to
The literary press and magazine directory
can be considered a major change under current rules. Deletion of
corporate body and movement of resource type word (directory) are minor
changes, but the change in order in the first five words (specifically
'press' and 'magazine') in considered a major change.
