I am posting this to the list, because I thought it may be of interest
to all. This is a manual that is put together by Northeast Document
Conservation Center. The NEDCC's specialty is archival materials, but
these procedures will work for libraries also.

The text is available free online or you can order a print copy. You
may not want to print it out, as it is about 500 pages.
It has a chapter titled "Cleaning Books and Shelves" that starts on
page 334, I think.
Good luck with your cleaning project. I think I need to do that, also.
