vendors/subscription agents

Hi,
I apologize in advance if this is something that has recently been
discussed, but my initial search of the discussion list for the past
year didn't yield anything, so I thought I'd risk just asking.
Like most libraries, we are in the midst of very difficult financial
times, and are trying to get a handle on our soaring periodicals costs.
We still need and want to have a decent print collection, as many of our
older faculty are reluctant to rely on electronic editions (for various
reasons). For many years, we have used EBSCO as our vendor, and I was
wondering if anyone has experience with any of the other subscription
agents. It would be especially helpful if someone has gone to or from
EBSCO and one of the other companies. What are your experiences with the
different vendors? How do costs compare? Is service reliable? What about
the "extra" services (e-journal access, reports, etc.)?
Thanks!
