Re: Switching vendors for same databases Yoon, Sunny 01 Dec 2005 21:03 UTC

Hi Paoshan,

We just went through changing platforms/vendors for Inspec, and we chose
to switch from Ebscohost to EV2 (Elsevier) based upon some monetary
savings and more importantly, the additional search features and general
improvements on usability EV2 offered. The Charleston Advisor also
happened to have a very good article comparing the variety of options
which helped us make our decision.

Good luck in your decision making process!

Sunny

Subject: [SERIALST] Switching vendors for same databases

Some databases are available from a number of different vendors. What
do you do when Vendor A offers to sell you a group of databases which
you have already subscribed to from Vendor B? Do you consider every new
offer that comes your way? Or, do you have a general guideline about
when to consider switching vendors for same databases?

Thanks,
