COLLECTIONS MANAGEMENT/TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
Salary: $64,445 to $90,222 annually

Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a culturally
competent, dynamic, service-oriented individual to plan, direct and
review the activities and operations of the Collections Management and
Technical Services units, which selects, acquires, catalogs and
processes all collection materials. This senior management level
position will direct, oversee, and administer policies related to
Collection Development and Technical Services (acquisitions, receiving,
cataloging and materials processing) activities for the Library;
establish collection-related vision and goals for the Library; create
and manage the Materials Budget; coordinate assigned activities with
other library divisions and services and outside agencies; and provides
highly responsible, complex staff assistance to the Director of the
Library.

Candidates should demonstrate an open management style, commitment to
constantly improving customer service within our diverse community, and
an ability to administer a complex library program. Candidates will also
be required to utilize appropriate methods for interacting sensitively
and professionally with persons from diverse backgrounds.

Requires four years of increasingly responsible experience in library
program management, including two years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge and
experience in collection development management and/or technical
services is required; experience in both areas is desirable. Experience
in working with
Innovative's Millennium is highly desirable AND a Master's degree from
an American Library Association accredited college or university with
major course work
in library science.
