NASIGuides (Frieda Rosenberg) Ann Ercelawn 10 Nov 2005 21:20 UTC

Hello all,

Serials staff who are not members of NASIG (North American Serials
Interest Group, http://www.nasig.org) may still find some of the
resources it has mounted helpful, including the NASIGuides
(www.nasig.org/publications/guides). These are openly accessible,
and most are short and pithy, covering timely topics: ISSN,
Electronic resource management, License negotiation, OpenURL, and
Title changes.
Because many people were interested in the long-promised NASIGuide
to Serial Holdings (www.nasig.org/publications/guides/holdings), I
wanted to announce that it is now mounted. Unlike the first ones,
it is extensive, but designed for accessibility and easy
navigation. It is intended as a comprehensive guide to the whole
area of holdings. It includes a survey of the editable codes, with
examples and an indication of uses and decisions, including
conversion and migration issues. I hope you find it helpful in
your catalog development.
