Illinois Wesleyan University's Ames Library invites applications for the
position of Director of Technical Services.  This tenure-track, faculty
position provides professional expertise and innovative, energetic
leadership for the evolving areas of Acquisitions, Serials, and Cataloging.
Working in a highly integrated team environment, the Director will assess
and develop technical services policies and procedures in order to guarantee
the effective acquisition and delivery of print and electronic materials.

Illinois Wesleyan University is a vibrant academic community of 2,100

learning environment conducive to interaction, consultation, study, and
reflection and is dedicated to serving the scholarly needs of the Illinois
Wesleyan University community.  Motivated by our desire to understand,

we continually evolve in our efforts to meet those needs.

Essential Functions:
*  Provides leadership in the management of the Technical Services
departments: developing department goals, policies, and workflows; setting
priorities; and fostering staff development.
*  Guides planning for technical services functions that include
traditional, digital, and future services through a proactive approach to
the development and implementation of a bold vision for Technical Services.
*  Oversees the hiring, training, and supervising of 4.5 FTE technical
services staff, and represents their concerns to library management.
