A library survey: pros & cons of print & electronic publications in libraries
Maha Kumaran 03 Oct 2005 15:10 UTC
Dear colleagues,
My colleague Dawn Bassett and I (Maha Kumaran) are writing a paper on the
pros and cons of print and electronic publications in libraries.
Although our focus is on academic libraries, we would like to hear from
you if you are a librarian responsible for any aspect of your collection
regardless of the type of library you work in. We would like to know why
librarians or libraries choose one format over the other. Cost, space and
user preference are obvious factors but are there more reasons?
The survey runs for a period of three weeks from October 3rd to October
24th. Please click on the link below to start the survey. It will only
take10-15 minutes of your time. We will share the results of this survey
with you through email.
Your participation is strictly voluntary. We are working on a deadline,
so any insight you can offer as experienced acquisition librarians or
collection managers will be profoundly helpful. All information given to
us will be kept confidential. Should you have any further questions
please contact Maha at maha_kumaran@yahoo.ca .
We thank you for your help.
Dawn and Maha.
