Re: subdivision --Dictionaries

I have gotten some interesting responses to this. I would be curious to
hear from LC why they would assign the subdivision --Dictionaries to
guides like Halliwell's. I am changing it to --Reviews in our local
catalog. No patron here would consider it a dictionary or search that
way.

Subject: subdivision --Dictionaries
I have not been able to get a satisfactory answer as to why titles like
Halliwell's film, video & DVD guide get assigned the subject subdivision
--Dictionaries. Surely, this is not a dictionary. I like --Catalogs as a
subdivision but I suppose that implies that these are dvds for sale.
Closer to the mark seems to be --Reviews or even --Bibliographies. I
just don't think patrons would search for this title using the word
"dictionary." What do others think? I hardly ever see use of the
subdivision --Reviews but it seems to me that that term is in wide use
among the public.
