"ALCTS, Adding Value to ALA"

Featuring Step Schmitt, 2003 Nominations Committee member

During the recent ALA elections, many ALCTS members became concerned
about the image and perception of ALCTS within ALA.  What can ALCTS
members do to raise our profile?  How can we get more ALCTS members
involved in activities, such as participation in Council, that will help
integrate ALCTS more completely into the power seat of ALA?

The ALCTS-SS Research Libraries Discussion Group will address these
topics in Chicago at the 2005 ALA Annual Meeting.  Please join us for a
short talk by Step Schmitt, who will describe the Council nominations &
election process from the "inside", followed by a brainstorming session
about the visibility of ALCTS within ALA.

Please join us on Saturday, 25 June, from 9:30-11:00 am at the Hilton,
Lake Huron Room.
