Library Project Manager (PR164-2/04-05)

Reporting to the Associate Librarian of Technical & Collection Services
Division, the appointee will provide administrative and related
technical services functions, and develop library collections. The
appointee will also be assigned to the Acquisitions Section to manage
the acquisitions of library materials in all formats and work
collaboratively with other professional librarians on policies and
planning, resource allocation, collection development and program
implementation. He/She is also expected to undertake any other duties
and/or assist in ad hoc exercises/projects as assigned.

Applicants should have a good university degree plus a recognized
professional qualification in Librarianship (MLS or equivalent) and with
a minimum of 5 years of supervisory and management experience preferably
in an academic library setting. He/She should be independent and
committed, has good knowledge in collection development and acquisitions
operations and be able to work collegially in a dynamic environment.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English, good analytical
and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills and ability to
work under pressure are essential. The appointment will be initially for
a period of 12 months. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual
agreement.
