Please excuse any duplication.** The University of Connecticut Libraries Electronic Resources Librarian (Search #05A360) Under the general direction of the Acquisitions/Serials Team Leader and working in a team-oriented environment as a member of the Acquisitions/Serials Team, the Electronic Resources Librarian: manages the electronic resources database; coordinates and implements licensing; access, renewal and maintenance of electronic resources and associated documentation; updates and maintains linking capabilities for electronic resources including link-resolving software; works collaboratively with the Network Services Librarian for issues related to access and use of library electronic resources; collaborates and works cooperatively with library constituents to ensure successful access and use of electronic resources; and maintains statistical data to report and evaluate the use and satisfaction of electronic resources. The Electronic Resources Librarian will lead vendor/publisher communication in licensing negotiations and implement access to electronic resources; be responsible for identifying, assessing, and implementing new approaches to acquiring, linking and making accessible electronic resources; and provide staff training as needed. The incumbent will develop new policies, procedures, and operations to improve the management of electronic resources. The Electronic Resources Librarian will be a permanent member of the Network Services Team and will also collaborate closely with the Collection Development Team to facilitate the identification, selection, and fiscal control of information resources. Minimum qualifications include: an ALA accredited graduate level degree; relevant experience in an academic or research library; demonstrated experience negotiating and managing licenses and contracts related to electronic resources; experience managing a wide variety of electronic resources; experience with technologies used to provide access to databases and electronic resources; knowledge and understanding of issues and practices related to electronic information, resources, copyright and intellectual property rights, and scholarly communication; demonstrated experience working with publishers and vendors of electronic resources. Preferred qualifications include: experience using an integrated library system, preferably Voyager; experience with web technology, and various report generation and management software products; experience with link resolving software, e.g. LinkFinder Plus; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team based environment; strong public service orientation and awareness of the impact of electronic resource access and licensing on user needs; record of scholarly/professional activity.
