Re: JSTOR Print Titles: To Be, or Not To Be...? Lesley Tweddle 05 Apr 2005 13:36 UTC

Hallo Tony,

The answers to your questions are:
1. Yes, we subscribe to both print and electronic JSTOR titles

2. last year, we were forced by pressure on space to give away about
8,000 vols - ALL that had already been archived in JSTOR. Local
libraries lapped them up. We propose to continue with this, as space
will remain tight until we move to a new campus.

3. no consortia are available locally. On the other hand, I don't think
we've had any access problems. Printing clunkiness and expense was the
main complaint we feared, but as far as I know there has been NO
complaint from patrons about any aspect of the print removal.

That's quite something!

Best wishes,
