In our library, we decided to put all the Organic Gardening back under
that name, with a note that a certain range within it it entitled OG. We
thought that would be more reasonable and helpful to the patrons.

In rap slang, an OG is an "original gangsta." Particularly
popularized by
the song of the same name by Ice-T. Whom now plays a cop on Law &
Order:
SVU. Somehow, I don't think OG's of either definition have too much
in
common.
