Paul Leonard Library. The successful candidates will be expected to fulfill a combination of responsibilities in the areas of reference, instruction, collection development and liaison work with discipline-based faculty. Seeking energetic, creative individuals with education and/or experience in one or more of the following: Biological/health sciences, K-12 curriculum and/or teacher education, Social sciences with an emphasis on public policy Librarians have full faculty status. Appointment is expected to be at the rank of Senior Assistant Librarian (Assistant Professor equivalent) with a hiring salary range of $ 50,100 - $ 63,300. As faculty, librarians are expected to meet faculty requirements for tenure and promotion. Tenure is normally granted with seventh year reappointment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides research advice for Reference/Government Publications at service desk, during office hours; and electronically through e-mail/telephone/virtual reference. Works with discipline-based faculty on integrating information competence; offers courseintegrated presentations and electronic resources workshops; contributes to information competence projects, including the OASIS Web tutorial; develops supporting instructional materials in electronic and print formats. Works with discipline-based faculty to develop collections in all formats for subject area responsibilities, provide reports in support of accreditation/program reviews and review collections in preparation for a planned automated retrieval system. Serves on committees, working groups and task forces for the Library, University, and CSU and actively participates in Library planning. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited Masters in Library and Information Science. Academic background and/or professional experience in one or more of the following: biological/ health sciences, K-12 curriculum and/or teacher education, social sciences. Ability to provide research advice and instruction at a general reference desk on the use of print and electronic resources, including government sources. Ability to give clear and concise instructional presentations. Working knowledge of new and emerging information technologies and familiarity with their impact on higher education and research. Ability to work independently and as a member or leader of a team. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse campus constituency. Ability to work effectively in a collegial and fast-paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong service ethic. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least one year of professional post-MLS academic library experience with instruction and reference responsibilities. Experience and demonstrated knowledge in the teaching of electronic resources, including Internet/World Wide Web-based resources and understanding of the issues related to their delivery and access. Knowledge and experience with collection development and management of print and electronic resources supporting university curricula. Subject degree in one of the biological/health sciences, social sciences, and/or a teaching credential. Ability to support multiple subject areas in a comprehensive level university curriculum. Ability to adapt to rapid change and to exercise creativity and initiative. Strong analytical and proactive problem solving skills. Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development and the potential to achieve tenure. The J.
