TITLE:  Learning Resources Department Director
INSTITUTION:  Life University, Marietta, GA  30060

SCOPE OF JOB:  Responsible for all aspects of Learning Resources Department
administration (Library, Multimedia Services, and A/V Productions), such as:
 general direction; strategic planning; accreditation; budget preparation;
development of the library; directing materials acquisitions, collection
development, and personnel development. Works with faculty and administration
on library policies and ensures that the library's best interests are always
represented.  Supervises and administers library orientation, bibliographic
instruction, and other applicable training as needed.  Reports to the Provost
in the Office of Academic Affairs .

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Strong service orientation, organizational, presentation,
and interpersonal communication skills including; initiative, creativity,
problem solving, and knowledge of education curricular trends. Supervisory
experience. Demonstrated ability to work closely with faculty and students in
support of their research needs.  Knowledge of print and online reference
sources and services.  General knowledge computers, network systems, integrated
library management systems and OPACS.  Evidence of scholarly and professional
activities.  Attention to detail.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: ALA-accredited or Georgia BOR-approved MLS degree. At
least 5 years of professional librarian (post graduate) experience in a
supervisory level position.  Academic library experience strongly preferred.
