LIBRARIAN (ACQUISITION SPECIALIST)
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) seeks an Acquisition
Specialist to serve in the CRS Office of Information Resources
Management, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of
information services and collections that support both the United States
Congress and CRS staff.
The Acquisition Specialist will develop acquisition strategies for
acquiring materials in all subject areas including law, social sciences,
and public policy as well as government and congressional documents.
With knowledge of the marketplace, the incumbent will establish
relationships with vendors, order and receive print materials, negotiate
prices and trials with vendors of electronic products and work with CRS
legal and financial staff to negotiate licensing agreements. Other
duties include collaborating with staff to identify new or updated
information resources to be considered for acquisition and making
determinations of the most appropriate format, creating and maintaining
acquisitions records, and addressing funds control issues.
This position is being offered at the GS-13 level ($72,108 - $93,742).
