Subject: Important news about Serials Solutions
Dear Colleague,
Serials Solutions was founded in 2000 with a desire to enable more
efficient usage of electronic resources. Thanks to your patronage and a
continued focus on creating innovative, high-quality products, the company
has grown steadily and serves some 1,300 libraries worldwide.
And now Serials Solutions is embarking on an exciting new journey. On July
7, 2004, Serials Solutions was acquired by ProQuest Information and
Learning. Through this acquisition, ProQuest continues a commitment to
serving the information needs of libraries and library users.
ProQuest is committed to continuing Serials Solutions' tradition of
excellence in service and product quality, as well as maintaining a role
as a trusted intermediary between libraries and content providers. To
ensure continuity in service, the Seattle office will continue operation,
where a center of expertise exists.
Since operations will continue unchanged in the Seattle office, your point
of contact will remain the same. Please continue to call your regular
service and sales representatives at the telephone numbers you have used
in the past for customer service, sales, and technical support needs.

Penny -
I spoke with the guys at SerSol when this news hit - I was greatly
concerned. But they assured me that this was a good thing, and that
Proquest will leave them alone to do what they do best: develop new
products. As I understand it, the biggest plus is that the management of
the company will be taken off their shoulders. That was becoming a big
burden.
Peter McCracken sent out an email explaining; I don't have it still but
someone else might.

I saw a press release announcing that Serials Solutions has been bought
by ProQuest posted on Yahoo.com. Here is the link: ProQuest spies growth

Does anybody know anything about this? We are a Serials Solutions user
and are interested in any information. Thanks,
