Oregon Institute of Technology has the following employment opportunity:

Reference Librarian

The Oregon Institute of Technology Library invites applications for a
temporary, half-time (.50 FTE) librarian position in the Instruction
Services Department.  This instructor position will provide professional
level reference and associated services to students, faculty, and
community patrons and reports to the Instruction Services Librarian. This
position is available immediately.  Term of appointment is through
December 2004 with the possibility of continuation through December 2005
and is benefits eligible.

Primary responsibilities:  Assists patrons in locating information,
provides assistance or instruction for all electronic and print resources
as needed, instructs patrons in the use of the library and keeps current
with technology and resources in the library

Requirements:  ALA accredited Master's degree in Library Science earned or
in progress, or demonstrated equivalent, reference services experience,
effective communication skills including the ability to listen, clarify,
interpret and respond to questions, ability to work effectively in a
collegial environment, ability to learn new skills quickly and
user-centered approach to library services.

Experience or familiarity with a variety of computer applications
including article databases, Internet resources, and office programs, and
ability to provide basic troubleshooting of staff and public computers are
preferred.

Salary DOE, minimum $17.00 hour with flexible scheduling.  Review of
