You can have Sierra put you on an automatic renewal program. This
way your subscription automatically renews and your credit card is
automatically charged.

We just got word from our vendor that Sierra (0161-7362) could no
longer be ordered through a vendor but had to be purchased direct
from the publisher. To make matters worse the publisher, the Sierra
Club, indicates on their web site that they don't bill; all
subscriptions have to be prepaid with a credit card.
This isn't impossible for us, but it is an inconvenience. What
makes it really problematic is having to remember each year to
renew by credit card. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing
with these situations?
Thank you.

We, too, have a similar situation with some of our subscriptions. I
have a hanging file folder for each month of the year. I put some
type of printed information (photocopy of last renewal, etc.) into
the folder for the appropriate month (about 2 or 3 months before
the subscription expires) and then check that folder at the
beginning of the month. Of everything I have
tried, this makes it the easiest for me to keep up with this type
situation.

Christopher,
This is just a thought, but you might try contacting the publisher
to see if they would send you a subscription gratis. About two
years ago we mysteriously began receiving this magazine. We've
never ordered it nor are we paying for it!

***I put a note on my checkin record, for one thing, to notify me
when the XXX issue comes in, that we need to renew. The
acquisitions librarian also keeps lists of direct orders, and when
they need to be paid.
