NASIG Mentoring Program during the Conference

Please excuse the cross-postings!
NOTE: This activity is open to NASIG members and non-members alike. It
is being posted to the "outside" lists with the hope that if you are a
non-member planning to attend the NASIG Conference for the first time,
that you will consider participating. It's a good way to meet people
and find out how the conference works. Of course, if you are not a
member, why not join? It's only $25 a year and it will save you money
on your conference registration! And, in the future you will receive all
these messages as a member since you will see all this on NASIG-L!

Subject: [NASIG-L] Mentoring Program
From: Alice M Tucker <atucker@usgs.gov>
NASIG is once again offering a mentoring program for first-timers to the
NASIG Conference. Please see the information and forms at the following
URL:
http://www.nasig.org/mentor/index.htm
The program is offered to people who would like to be mentored or
who would like to mentor a new-comer to the NASIG Conference. It is
an easy, wonderful way to meet colleagues and share your knowledge
with others. The only requirement to be a mentee is attendance at
the NASIG Conference. For mentors, we ask that you have attended at
least one previous NASIG Conference and are willing to meet with your
mentee at the conference and take a few minutes to contact them before
the conference. Everyone should try to attend the First-timers
Reception on Thursday, June 17th at 3:00 pm.
The deadline for Applications will be Friday, May 7th. After we
receive your applications we will contact you with the name of your
partner and guidelines. This program has worked successfully for
several years and we look forward to your participation this year.
If you cannot access the website and forms, please contact me and I
will send you an e-mail form.
