SYMPOSIUM: Seize the E-Journal: Models for Archiving

Electronic journals are a fact of everyday life for librarians who work
in all types of libraries all over the world. There have been many new
developments in this arena. The Medical Library Association's (MLA)
Collection Development Section invites you to an upcoming Washington
D.C. area half-day symposium that may help answer your questions and
may address some of your concerns. At the very least, it should bring
you up to date! MLA membership is not required.

This symposium will give participants the opportunity to become familiar
with current electronic journal archiving models and discuss
future-oriented collection development priorities and strategies for
individual, organizational, consortia, and national libraries. The program
will include presentations by the experts on their archiving models, input
from reaction panel members on the impact, feasibility, and interest level
in these models for various types of libraries, and breakout sessions that
allow participants to discuss existing archiving models and future
archiving priorities and standards.
