Reference & Information Literacy Librarian

Part-Time

POSITION DESCRIPTION:   The Reference & Information Literacy Librarian assists the Director of the Library in designing, implementing and promoting all services provided by the Library.  Works collaboratively with other library staff and college faculty in facilitating the use of information resources in teaching and learning of the college community.  Provides leadership in the development and promotion of a campus-wide curriculum-based information literacy program.  Provides reference assistance in using the libraries’ print and digital collections and other information resources.  Acts as a library liaison, subject bibliographer and instructor with one or more academic departments and assists in the overall supervision and development of the Library.

Primarily evening and weekend hours.

EDUCATION:  Master’s degree in Library Science or Library & Information Science from an ALA accredited school master’s degree or an equivalent degree.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:   3 -5 years professional reference experience, substantial professional knowledge of and experience with librarianship theories, principles and practices, experience using various library technology and information resources.  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

SALARY:  $25.00/hour
