In response to recent messages from subscription agents to librarians about
the default renewal of print plus online (bundle) subscriptions to
print-only format, Cambridge University Press would like to clarify our
pricing for 2004.
Important Renewals Information for Cambridge University Press Journals 2004
is available at
http://titles.cambridge.org/journals/journal_pricing_nextyear.asp
We would like to confirm the pricing structure for Cambridge University
Press (CUP) journals for 2004. In 2004 Cambridge University Press Journals
will offer the following subscription options for Institutional subscribers:
1. Bundled Institutional Subscription - Print plus Online Subscription*:
A bundled Institutional Subscription includes a print subscription with
single site-wide online access to that title.
2. Print-only Institutional Subscription:
Print-only subscriptions are available at prices approximately 5-10% lower
than the Bundled Institutional Subscription. This entitles the institution
to receive one print copy of each issue of the title for the calendar year.
3. Online-only Institutional Subscription*:
Single site-wide online-only access. Online-only prices are on average 8 -
15% lower than the Bundled Institutional Subscription. This is the cheapest
option. However there may be VAT implications for customers in the EU.
***Make sure you retain your online access in 2004***
Cambridge University Press wants our customers to enjoy uninterrupted access
to their online titles in 2004. However some customers may find that their
renewals have been set by their subscription agent to a print-only option.
This may not be immediately apparent because online-only subscriptions
benefit from a grace period of three months from Cambridge. So we would be
grateful if you would check your subscription type now. Make sure your
renewals include the online option for 2004 if you wish to continue to
access our journals online. We have asked our partner subscription agents to
remind you of all your options in their next renewal message.
You will be able to make the format selection on a title by title basis
unless your institution is part of a consortium or developing country
package.
Please also note that a small number of Cambridge Journals are not available
online-only, and five titles are only available in print only format. See
http://titles.cambridge.org/journals/journal_pricing_nextyear.asp for
details. There, you will also find details of titles joining and leaving the
list, frequency and format changes.
If you have any questions please contact your subscription agent or contact
us via email: jnl_mkt@cambridge.org or telephone:1 845 353 7500 (USA, Canada
& Mexico), or +44 (0)1223 326070 (ROW)
