Re: SwetsBlackwell and Cambridge University Press Online??

Hello y'all: (Fake southern accent)
Primarily because the print alone is a little bit less in cost, and the
subscription agents are making sure we get the lowest price UNLESS we
want to pay more for the "Bundled P+E"
Swets, Ebsco and all know that the budgets are tight and this gives the
library an alternative to cancelling titles to save a little money.
However, more and more faculty/students/staff want online access.
It is a balancing act that we are all going through.

Hi all,
Just curious to know if any of you are experiencing this as well. Last
week we received notification from Swets that all of our
print+electronic titles from Cambridge would be renewed as print only
and that we would have to contact them about electronic access. But as
far as I can tell, Cambridge University Press has changed its price
structure so that the print+electronic is the default subscription but
you can request a print only or electronic only at a slight discount.
So why is SWETS making it more difficult to get print+electronic when
that is the route the publisher is going?
