The University of Toledo invites applications for the position of
Coordinator of Collection Development and Resource Management.  This
full-time, tenure-track faculty position reports to the Assistant Dean
for Resource and Systems Management.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works collegially with library faculty to plan and coordinate collection
development, acquisitions, cataloging of all formats, database
maintenance, and materials processing of library resources.  Selects
materials in identified subject areas.  Prepares and monitors the
library materials budget, including development and oversight of a
written collection development policy and a funding formula for resource
allocation.  Monitors approval plans.  Serves as the team leader for the
liaison program with academic departments, coordinates the subject
selectors, and serves as the Chair of the Collection Development
Committee.  Assembles annual and special reports on the collection.
Participates in development and maintenance of policies and procedures
for preservation and remote storage.  Hires, supervises and evaluates
support staff in Collection Development and Resource Management
(currently 11 FTE).  Serves on library, university and professional
committees and participates in scholarly activities to meet requirements
for promotion and tenure.

REQUIRED:
Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited
program.  Three to five years of experience in collection development
and library acquisitions, with at least two years of supervisory
experience.  Demonstrated achievement in scholarly activity (e.g.,
publications or presentations) and service to meet the criteria for
appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor.

PREFERRED:
Demonstrated competence with INNOPAC or similar integrated library
system.  Demonstrated competence with GOBI or similar approval plan
software.  Familiarity with cataloging and/or serials acquisitions and
management.  Experience with collection development within a consortium
environment.

faculty rank based on qualifications, with a minimum rank of Assistant
Professor.  Salary range $45,000-$51,000.  Review of applications will
