Serials Librarian
O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library
University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN
O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library seeks a Serials Librarian to administer our
serials department. Duties: manage the serials unit including binding;
purchase and renew electronic resources, periodicals and newspapers (paper
and microform); manage licenses; create and distribute reports; catalog new
serials and web sites; manage technology to access electronic and microfilm
resources including proxy work and microform machines; assist patrons.
Qualifications: MLS from ALA program or equivalent combination of education
and experience. Required: 3-5 years academic library experience including
managing serials; demonstrated management and supervisory skills; ILS
experience; knowledge of OCLC, AACR2R, Word, Access, Excel. Preferred:
cataloging experience; familiarity with trends in library technology; strong
computer proficiency; ability to work cooperatively in a rapidly changing
