reveals some interesting figures about profitability.

EXPENDITURES       126B
SURPLUS                                      $4B or 3% of revenue

PRIVATE 4-YEAR INSTITUTIONS FISCAL YEAR 2000
REVENUES:             $120B
EXPENDITURES        80B
SURPLUS                                      $40B or 33% of revenue

YEAR 1995-96 from last year's Almanac
REVENUES:             $75B
EXPENDITURES       70B
SURPLUS                                      $10B  or 13% of revenue

They don't pay taxes. What have they done with all that money?
