Hi Jeanette,

There has been a lot of creative dating going on in the publisher world
for the past ten years.

Some examples include:
American Ceramics (this history is 4 volumes over 7 years - nothing
printed in 2001; pub note was v.14, 2001 rescheduled 2001->2002)
v.11:4, 1995
v.12:1, Wint 1995
v.12:2 1996
v.12:3 Spring 1997
v.12:4 Summer 1997
v.13:1 Fall 1998
v.13:2 Winter 1999
v.13:3 Spring 2000
v.13:4 Summer 2000
v.14:1 Fall 2002
v.14:2 Winter 2002

American Journal of Education (1/10/03 publisher letter: there will not be
any issues dated 2002)
109:3 May 2001
Next issue due is v.110:4, Nov 2003.

Foodservice Research International (went from 4/yr to 3/yr but kept the issue
numbers at 4/vol)
v.11:1 March 1999
v.11:2 June 1999
v.11:3 September 1999
v.11:4 December 1999
v.12:1 April 2000
v.12:2 October 2000
v.12:3 December 2000
v.12:4 April 2001
v.13:1 October 2001
v.13:2 December 2001
v.13:3 April 2002
v.13:4 July 2002

International Journal of Hospitality Information Technology (takes 2
years to complete 1 volume)
v.1:1 Fall 1999
v.1:2 Spring 2000
v.2:1 Spring-Summer 2001
v.2:2 Fall-Winter 2002

Journal of Education (pub note: rescheduled v.183, 2001 -> 2002)
v.182:1 Winter 2000
v.182:2 Spring 2000
v.182:3 Fall 2000
v.183:1 Winter 2002
v.183:2 Spring 2002

These are just a few of the "simple" problems that have developed from
publishers trying to catch up with titles that have fallen behind in
publishing. I expect to see more of the problem publishers doing more
skipping of years and combining issues to get caught up. Watch those
little publisher statements inside issues and even check the Internet if
you can.

Thought you would like to know about what is really going on and that you
are not alone in dealing with these weird problems. Though the idea of
skipping the year 2001 would be nice if we could just erase the damage
that was done then.
