Joyce,
We put tattle-tapes in all newly bound journals, even if they have
previously been tattle-taped.

We do not place security strips in all of our loose issues, but our binder
does put them in each bound volume as part of the binding process. We
supply the binder with the strips and they fold the labor cost into the
price for binding.
(Our binder is Ridley's in Ithaca, NY)

Joyce,
I know that when our journals return from the bindery, our bindery
department do place security strips in between the spine and the journal. I
was told that most of the security strips that are placed in the individual
journals are cut off during the binding process. I hope this helps.

Usually they are still there in the bound volume. If they have been cut
off I add a strip to the bound volume. I have my students test the bound
volumes in the sensitizer.

Dear Colleagues,
Can I get responses to whether you place security stripes in journals
after they are returned form the bindery, even though they were targeted
individually when checked in and placed on the current issue shelf.
Joyce
