Cynthia - a system that works well for us is: paper issues (current year
or volume) are available on periodical shelves; bound journals are on
compact shelving; and the purchase of JSTOR has allowed me to move many
bound journals to off-site storage (a big project this summer), freeing
up a wonderful amount of space. Hope this is helpful - Dianne

Hi,
Due to space limitation, we at University of the Pacific needs to split
our periodical collection in 3 different locations, namely periodical
shelves, compact shelving inside the library, and off-site long term
storage.
Besides using date (age of the publication) and usage statistics, I am
wondering if there are other criteria should be considered? I am also
interested in hearing from the other libraries regarding the acceptance
of library users.
Please reply directly to me. Thanks!
