opportunity for discussion on

Rebecca Guenther, Senior Networking and Standard Specialist for the
Network Development and MARC Standards Office of the Library of Congress,
will present MARC/XML intiatives being pursued by the Library of Congress,
including the the MARC XML DTD (Documment Type Definition), the MARCXML
Schema, MODS (Metadata Object Description Schema), and METS (Metadata
Encoding & Transmission Standard).  Please join us to learn how to assess
issues related to MARC in XML, and share your questions and concerns on
developments in this area.

The meeting will kick off with an election of the 2003/2004 chair-elect of
MFIG.
