Mark you calendar for these exciting library workshops!

The Palmer School of Library & Information Science of Long Island
University & Aaron Cohen & Associates, LTD are jointly presenting the
following workshops:

"Creative Learning Environments"
WHEN: May 8th
WHERE: NYC- InfoToday 2003 Conference
Every librarian, information manager or staff member will probably be
faced with designing, building or renovating a technology-enabled
classroom. We will explore do-it-yourself techniques important for
librarians, managers, and information technology professionals.

"Knowledge Management, Core Competency, Cultural Facility Planning"
WHEN: June 13th
WHERE: NYC- TBA
All too often, library research facilities are designed to be either
functional or aesthetic, but not necessarily both. To create spaces
people find attractive and easy to use, special emphasis must be placed
on the culture of research and learning, and on the development of
flexible work spheres. The workshop will explore do-it-yourself
techniques on how to position your library and information management
team under one roof.

"Renovating Libraries w/ Limited $$"
WHEN: June 20th
WHERE: Toronto - ALA
No matter how long you have been at your library or information
management post, shifting funds and resources is difficult. During this
workshop, we will emphasize do-it-yourself techniques to improve the
facility -- important for librarians and information managers who do not
have the funds to reinvest without outside help.

The cost for each workshop is $185. All of the workshops will run from
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and include coffee, tea, and a snack break.

These workshops will be interactive group sessions; team leaders will
share planning methodologies and critique attendee projects;
participants are encouraged to explore, collaborate, and network at
these workshops.
