Subject: NASIG - call for networking nodes & user groups
For those of you planning on attending NASIG 2003:
It is time to think about the Networking Nodes and user group meetings
that you might want to schedule for the 18th annual NASIG conference to
be held June 26-29, 2003, at Portland State University.
Nodes: The Networking Nodes offer opportunities for an informal
exchange of ideas, problems and solutions, issues, and opinions relating
to serials. Nodes will meet on Friday, June 27, 4:15-5:30 p.m. Previous
years' topics have included public libraries, cataloging,
paraprofessional concerns, serial vendor transfers, holdings
integration, EDI implementation, union listing, preservation, getting
published, reference/public services, and managing electronic journals.
User Groups: User groups will meet on Sunday, June 29, 11:45
a.m.-12:45 p.m. User groups meet after the conference's closing session,
in keeping with NASIG's no-conflict, non-commericalism policy. Groups in
the past have included Endeavor, Horizon, and Innovative, Interfaces,
among others.
Please submit Networking Node topics or user group names, estimates of
how many might attend, and names of facilitators by May 1 to Bea
Caraway, NASIG Secretary.
