I'm trying to clean up a problem with the journal - /Sagetrieb /and I'm
interested in knowing how others are noting the chronology for the
lastest volumes (since volume 14).  I would be interested in learning
what chronology others are using for volume 17 and volume 18.

 I'm working backwards from volume 18 to volume 14.

 Volume 18:  The title page shows a date of 2002; the verso of the title
page has this interesting note:  "The actual date of publication of this
issue, volume 18, numbers 2 & 3, is 2002, though its series date accords
with 1999.  Volume 18, no. 1 doesn't have a date on the title page nor
an interesting note on the verso of the title page.  I would like to use
1999 as the chronology on this volume.

Volume 17, no. 1 has 2002 on the title page; the note on the verso of
the title page:  "The actual date of publication of this issue, volume
17, numbers 1, 2 & 3, is 2002, though its series date accords with
1998."  I have no idea what the rules say about this, but since two
volumes have been published in 2002 I'm guessing the publisher is trying
to get caught up and my serials nature wants to use 1998 as the
chronology on this volume.

Volumee16, no. 1/2 has a date of Spring & Fall 1997 at the top of the
title page and a 1999 copyright date at the bottom of the title page; v.
16:no.3 uses Winter 1997 for chronology. I believe the rules indicate we
should use 1997 for the chronology.  .

 Volume 15 has a date of 1996 on all the issues, but is copyrighted in
1997.  The chronology should be 1996 (my bindery and check-in people
unfortunately chose 1997).
