ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/SERIALS LIBRARIAN, TENURE TRACK.
Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive research and land grant
university offering more than 200 academic programs with state, national,
and international impact. The Stillwater campus enrolls 20,000 students.
The Library, with holdings of more than 2.6 million volumes and documents,
is a member of the Association of Research Libraries. The Library
operates in a highly automated environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the "serials expert" within the Acquisitions Department.
Supervises the Serials Section (3 full-time and student assistants) which
includes processing serial issues and invoices using the Endeavor Voyager
system and processing the annual serial renewal lists. Serves as a
resource person for the resolution of serial problems. Assist in
developing departmental policies, procedures and goals. Serves on Library
committees as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications. Required: Master's degree from an ALA accredited program. Knowledge of
acquisitions and serials processing. Experience with an automated
catalog, excellent problem solving skills, ability to work collaboratively
and independently ,ability to work with individuals with diverse
backgrounds. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated potential for professional growth and development. Desired: Experience in a library acquisitions department. Experience in serials
acquisitions and/or cataloging. Experience supervising full-time
employees and student assistants. Participation in library professional
organizations.

THE DEPARTMENT: The Acquisitions Department consists of two librarians, nine support
staff, and four FTE student assistants and is under the administrative
purview of the Assistant Dean for Technical Services & Administration.
This position reports to the Department Head, Acquisitions.
SALARY: Minimum $33,000 for 11 months. Salary and academic rank dependent upon
qualifications and prior experience.
