Head, Serials Cataloging

The Libraries of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) invite
applications for the position of Head, Serials Cataloging Section in the
Catalog Department.  The incumbent will provide leadership, management and
supervision of daily operations for the Serials Cataloging Section which
catalogs serials in all formats; monitor trends and maintain currency in
emerging issues in bibliographic control of serials; perform original and
complex copy cataloging of serials; and share responsibility in Catalog
Department management as a member of the Catalog Management Team. The
salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience within a
range of $42,996-$70,500 (Associate Librarian I - Librarian II).
Applicants who may qualify at the Associate Librarian level are encouraged

The Catalog Department is responsible for cataloging approximately 30,000
items annually. Including the Department Head, the staff includes 8
librarians, 22 full-time library assistants and a varying number of
student assistants.  The Department consists of five sections: Monograph
Cataloging, Copy Cataloging, Serials, Catalog Maintenance, and East Asian.
The Department uses OCLC for cataloging and the Innovative Interfaces Inc.
INNOPAC system as the Libraries' OPAC.
