Academic Library Association of Ohio Annual Conference 2002
November 1, 2002
Embassy Suites
Independence, Ohio

ALAO cordially invites you to join us for Face to Face or Cyberspace –
Redefining the Human Touch at our 28th annual conference. The

Conference theme:
This year’s conference theme underscores the juxtaposition between
traditional library relationships and emerging technologies that are

the private sector and colleagues from Ohio, Arizona, Florida, Indiana,
North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. In addition, interest group business
meetings will be held along with a discussion session with our keynote
speaker.

Speaker:
Joseph Janes, founding director of the Internet Public Library will be
the keynote speaker. Author of ten books including Introduction to
Reference Work in the 21st Century, Janes speaks frequently at national
and international venues on the use of Internet technologies in
librarianship. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Information
Science at the University of Washington and has held similar positions
at North Carolina, SUNY Albany, Michigan, and Syracuse, where he
obtained his M.L.S. and Ph.D.
