Lauren, you have such a good memory! Yes, the claiming information from
the NASIG presentation in May 2001 is up on the MIT Libraries' staff Web
site (slightly different format than the NASIG presentation, but the
material is all there.) Check out

My general guideline is to allow half as long as the number of days between
issues beyond the expected date, or 90 days, until the first claim,
whichever comes first. Second and third claims I wait 6-8 weeks for
domestic, 8-12 for foreign (depending on the country and their mail
system). After that, I tend to give up; it just becomes not worth the
effort. We either buy a back issue or live with a gap.
