Food Ingredients & Analysis International Derrik Hiatt 15 Jul 2002 15:27 UTC

Good morning everyone,

Our library is currently working on how to handle "Food Ingredients &
Analysis International," which this year merged-literally-with
"Ingredients, Health, & Nutrition." The two publications are
back-to-back; the front cover of one is the back cover of the other,
each is upside-down in relation to the other, and they meet in the
middle. It's similar to having a bilingual publication where the
English is on one side and the French is on the other; but at least in a
case like that, both versions usually carry the same volume numbering.
On this one, "Food Ingredients & Analysis" is vol.24 and "Ingredients,
Health, & Nutrition" is vol.5.

I'm sure the publisher thought it was a nifty idea ...

Do any of the rest of you "out there" also subscribe to either of these?
How are you handling the merge? Of concern...

* Check in one and ignore the other?
* Catalog on separate records or a single "merged title" record?
* If a single record, how do you list the holdings?
* How do you shelve/bind this thing (these things)?

If you have come up with a solution, we'd love to hear it.

Thanks,
Derrik Hiatt
