The meeting of the ALCTS Heads of Technical Services of Medium Sized
Academic Libraries Discussion Group will take place 9:30-11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, June 15, in the Hanover D Room of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

The Midwinter meeting in New Orleans was a facilitated discussion on the
topic: Challenges of Hiring Technical Services Librarians. Since the
discussion was lively and attendees were very involved, we will follow a
similar format in Atlanta.

As a follow-up to Midwinter's topic, at Annual we will discuss: Retention
of Librarians in Academic Libraries. The facilitated format guarantees
participation and involvement of everybody in the room, so come prepared to
dive in to the give-and-take with your colleagues from across the country.
We'll discuss factors that promote or mitigate against retention of
academic librarians and how to deal with challenges.
