Four Full-time Positions

Requirements:
ALA-accredited M.L.S. degree; strong commitment to service and
professional development; excellent interpersonal and presentation
skills; experience with electronic information resources. An additional
graduate degree is required for appointment at the Assistant Professor
level, and for tenure consideration.

Associate Dean of Library and Information Services

Full-time administrative position, to start as soon as possible. The
Associate Dean supervises daily operations of the Joan and Donald E.
Axinn Library, the West Campus Library, the CMC/Education Library and
Media Services; works closely with the Dean, Assistant Deans/Chairs and
Directors on service, technology, personnel and contractual issues, and
development; advises regarding appointments and reappointments. Assumes
responsibility for physical plant, space needs and security. Must be
familiar with library and instructional technology and be innovative in
using technology to support and expand library services. Minimum of five
years' academic library experience, including supervisory
responsibilities. Must have excellent writing skills; ability to work
well with a diverse constituency of administrators, faculty and students;
knowledge of budgetary and other academic processes. An additional
graduate degree required.

Business Reference Librarian

Full-time, tenure-track Library faculty position. Serve as liaison to
faculty and students of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business. Duties
include reference desk service, teaching library classes and workshops,
and collection development responsibilities in support of all Zarb School
of Business departments. Reference duty one evening per week, and two to
three Saturdays per semester. At least three years' post-M.L.S. business
reference experience preferred. Demonstrated teaching and/or training
ability in library instruction preferred. An additional graduate degree
is highly desirable.

Reference Librarian/Coordinator of Library Instruction

Full-time, tenure-track Library faculty position. Coordinates all aspects
of the Library's instruction program, including orientations,
credit-bearing library courses on the undergraduate level, and graduate
workshops as well as instruction-related community outreach efforts.
Other duties include reference desk service, teaching library classes,
and collection development responsibilities in assigned subject areas.
Reference duty one evening per week, and two to three Saturdays per
semester. A minimum of two years' post-M.L.S. experience in an academic
reference department, including demonstrated teaching and training
ability in library instruction required. Experience in coordinating
library instruction programs and an additional graduate degree are highly
desirable.

Serials Librarian

Full-time, tenure-track Library faculty position. Coordinates all aspects
of serials management, including the creation and maintenance of serial
holdings records in all formats; trains and manages support staff; serves
as primary liaison with subscription agents and publishers and monitors
their performance; monitors serials budget and authorizes serials
expenditures; and formulates policies for the enhancement of access to
the serials collection. Other duties include limited but regularly
scheduled service at the reference desk and collection development
responsibilities in assigned subject areas. A minimum of two years'
post-M.L.S. experience in an academic library serials department and
experience with serial software modules in an integrated library system
are preferred. An additional graduate degree is preferred.

Salary Ranges:

Salary levels for all positions depend on qualifications and experience.
The three full-time, tenure-track Library faculty positions will be
filled at either Instructor or Assistant Professor level, depending on
qualifications. Salary range for faculty positions: Instructor,
$34,000-$39,000; Assistant Professor, $39,000-$52,000. Excellent benefits
package.
