I have been using the LARS bindery program since December of 1998 and
find it very helpful. If you have been letting the bindery do updates of
your titles as you send them in, you will load not only the LARS
software but your current title list/profiles. After that you are
responsible for updating, adding too, or deleting from your title list.

I find the LARS program helpful in that I can run a report of what is at
the bindery and have it available at the periodicals desk and reference
desks so that we can easily tell patrons that a piece it at the bindery
and when it will return. You also can run title lists to see the history
of binding on a particular title.

I have had some difficulty figuring out setting up custom titles or
changing things from custom to standard, but I have received a tutorial
for LARS that I hope will help with the things I have not figured out on
my own. I will say that I felt the initial documentation that came with
LARS was sketchy. Again I hope the tutorial will answer some questions.
Whenever I have called LARS support I have made my own notes about
"how-to" do this or that, and have added them to my documentation.

As for support, the people in Clearwater Florida are great. They have
been VERY helpful when I get error messages or have problems.

Call or write with questions.
