Association for Library Collections & Technical Services, Cataloging
& Classification Section, Cataloging Norms Discussion Group is calling
for speakers for its meeting at the American Library Association annual
meeting, Atlanta, GA, on Saturday June 15, 2002, from 2-4 p.m.
Presentation topics should be of current interest to catalogers and
deal with current cataloging standards. Possible areas of discussion
include but are not limited to: AACR2 upcoming revisions; MARC including
variations; creative vs. traditional OPACS; Seriality; ISSN; ISBD;
Electronic Resources: Digitization; Aggregator
Databases; Genre Term Thesauri; Authority Control; Multimedia
Cataloging.
Presentations should be approximately 15-20 minutes in length,
additional time will be allotted for questions and answers.
If you are interested in presenting, please send your name, email
address and other contact information, and the proposed topic of your
talk to Manuel Urrizola (murrizol@lib.uci.edu). The final selection of
speakers will be in early May.
